Commitment.

Not least because many of us have started families, we at psX are united by a common fundamental conviction: Children are our future – and it is this future we are sticking up for!

When in November 2008 we assumed the “Patenschaft Hamburger Mobilo” – sponsorship of a mobile project in Hamburg for socially disadvantaged children – it was because we wanted our conviction to find lasting expression. This project is supported by “Die Deutsche Lebensbrücke e.V” in close cooperation with specialists and social workers.

The Mobilo – a converted bus – goes right to the heart of social trouble spots in the Hamburg district of Lohbrügge and gives children the chance to have a decent lunch. The motto “Kids cook for kids” is an invitation for all to participate and is very popular with both kindergartens and schoolchildren – and young people too. The lunches are regularly attended by between 10 and 20 boys and girls who cook and eat the food with their carers. Everyone then helps to clear up.

In the light of the fact that in many poorer families even the youngest children are often left to their own devices during the day, the Mobilo provides support in many different ways: The children get a decent healthy meal, and they get some attention and affection that is sometimes lacking in their lives.

Our involvement means that for one day a week both lunch and a period of homework supervision on the Mobilo are assured. In addition, we also hope in future to be able to do yet more to help those who really need our support.
